Set Match Date & Location
Every fixture in a 4league competition can carry a kick-off date and time and a pitch or venue. Setting these keeps teams and followers informed and feeds the calendar, reminders, and match page. This guide covers who is allowed to set them and the exact flow for each.
Who Can Set a Match Date or Location
Setting a match date and assigning a location both follow the same single authorization rule that governs all match management actions. Three kinds of user can do it:
| Who | Condition |
|---|---|
| Organizer / co-organizer | A competition admin or owner (role 1 or 2) can always set the date and location. |
| Assigned referee | A referee assigned to that specific match can set its date and location. |
| Team Manager of a playing team | Only when the competition has managersCanAddScore enabled. With that setting on, a manager of either of the two teams in the match may set the date and location. |
This is the same userCanManageMatch rule used for scores and events. Anyone outside the three roles above receives a 403 noRights response and the attempt is logged as a security event. Setting a date or location never affects the standings — it only updates the fixture's scheduling fields.
Set the Match Date & Time
The date and time are chosen from a calendar/time picker on the match edit screen and saved to the backend.
Open the match edit screen
From the competition schedule, open the fixture and tap Edit to reach the match settings.
Pick the date and time
Tap the date field to open the day picker, then choose the day, hour, and minute of kick-off.
Save
Confirming the picker sends a POST /match/saveDate request with the match ID and chosen date. The backend writes the new date to the match, derives the voting window start from the competition's vote settings, and — importantly — clears any postponed flag (postponed: false) so a rescheduled match returns to its normal scheduled state.
Everyone is notified
After saving, connected players of both teams receive a “date for the match is set” push notification, and followers of each connected team are notified too, so squads know when to turn up.
Organizer Maria opens round 5's match between Vultur and Steaua. She taps the date field, picks next Saturday at 18:00, and saves. The fixture now shows the kick-off time on the match page, both squads get a push reminder, and team followers see the scheduled date in their calendar.
Set the Pitch / Location
A location is one of the venues you have saved in your account. Assigning one stamps the pitch name, address, and map position onto the match.
Open the locations picker
On the match edit screen, open the Location option. The app loads your saved locations into a selectable list.
Choose a pitch
Select the venue for this match. If you have no saved locations yet, add one first from your account's locations area.
Save
Confirming sends a GET /locations/saveMatch/:matchId/:locationId request. The backend copies the location's name, address, map URI, and position onto the match and returns the updated fixture.
The pitch you assign must be a location you own — the backend only attaches it when the location's userId matches the requesting user. Saved venues are reusable, so a recurring home ground can be applied to many fixtures without re-typing the address.
Maria saved “Arena Centrală” once at the start of the season. For each home fixture she opens the location picker, taps that venue, and saves — the match page now shows the pitch name and a tappable map link for visiting teams and fans.
