Create an Organization
This guide walks through the exact flow for creating a new organization in 4league — from the drawer entry point to the type picker and the subscription check that runs before the create form opens. For everything you can do after an organization exists (dashboard, members & roles, players, transfers, seasons, affiliations), see the full Organization Profile guide.
Decide which type of organization you need — the choice is permanent and determines the features, roles, and registration flows you get. Most types require a PRO subscription to create; see The subscription gate below.
The creation flow
Creating an organization is a short, linear flow. Each step is described below.
Open the drawer and tap "Create Organization"
Open the app's navigation drawer and select Create Organization. This takes you to the Add Organization screen.
Pick a type
The Add Organization screen presents the available organization types — Federation, Association, Club, and Community Group. Tap the one that matches your structure. See Organization types for which to choose, and remember the type cannot be changed later.
Tap Continue
After selecting a type, tap Continue. At this point the app runs a subscription check (see The subscription gate). If your plan does not cover the chosen type, you are sent to the upgrade screen before the create form opens. If your plan does cover it, the create form opens and you can enter the organization's details.
Fill in the details and create
Enter the organization name, logo, description, and contact information, then create it. You become the founder with the highest-priority role. For a full walkthrough of these fields and what to do next, see Creating an Organization in the Organization Profile guide.
Organization types
You choose one of four types on the Add Organization screen. The choice is permanent — features, roles, and registration flows differ per type and cannot be changed after creation.
| Type | Best for | Plan required to create |
|---|---|---|
| Federation | National or supra-regional governing body managing affiliated clubs, official rules, and licensing. | PRO |
| Association | Regional organizer running affiliated leagues with local rules and disciplinary commissions. | PRO |
| Club | Football club with multiple teams, registered players, staff, and federation links. | PRO |
| Community Group | Casual independent group — single team, weekend pickup matches, social play. See the Friends Group guide. | Free for your first one; PRO for any additional group. |
The subscription gate
When you tap Continue after picking a type, 4league checks your subscription before opening the create form. This check is surfaced in the app before the form opens: if your plan does not cover the chosen type, you are redirected to the upgrade screen instead of the create form.
Creating any of these three types requires a PRO subscription. If you are on the Free tier and tap Continue on a Federation, Association, or Club, the app routes you to the upgrade flow before the create form ever opens — you cannot reach the form without an active PRO plan.
Community Group: free for the first, PRO after
A Community Group is the one type that does not require PRO upfront. Your first Community Group is free. Creating a second or subsequent Community Group requires PRO — tapping Continue on a Community Group when you already own one triggers the same upgrade redirect described above.
The plan check happens at the Continue step, so free users never see the create form for a gated type — they see the upgrade screen first. This is what to expect in the app; it is the point at which the requirement is enforced for you as a user.
The organization ownership limit
A single account can own up to 100 organizations. This limit is independent of the subscription gate above — it applies to every type, on every plan.
When your account already owns 100 organizations, creating another is refused until you are back below the limit. The limit is the same on every plan — subscribing to PRO does not raise it. If you genuinely need more, contact the 4league team.
A volunteer opens the drawer, taps "Create Organization", and selects Association to set up the County FA. On tapping Continue, the app — detecting a Free plan — sends them to the upgrade screen instead of the create form. After subscribing to PRO, they repeat the flow; this time Continue opens the create form, where they enter the County FA's name, crest, and contact email and finish creating it.
Once your organization exists, the Organization Profile guide covers the dashboard, members & roles, the player pool, transfers & windows, season management, and affiliated organizations. For the subscription tiers themselves, see Organization Subscription Rules.
