Opening Hours
A venue's opening hours decide when its pitches can be booked at all. This page covers setting a venue's weekly hours, overriding them for one pitch, how a pitch without its own hours inherits the venue's, and what happens when someone tries to book a time outside them. It's the companion to Venues & Pitches and Location Designer.
Editing hours — venue or pitch — needs the same manage facilities access as creating venues and pitches. A viewer without it sees the configured hours read-only, with no day switches, no "Customize" action, and no Save button.
Setting the Venue's Weekly Hours
From the organization's Facilities → Settings → Opening Hours tab, with Venue default hours selected, each day of the week (Monday through Sunday) has an on/off switch:
- Off — the day is Closed, and no booking can be made against any of the venue's pitches on that day.
- On — the day gets one time range by default (09:00–18:00), shown as a From / To pair. Tap + Add time range to add a second window for the same day (for example a morning session and an evening session with a midday closure between them), or the remove icon on a range to drop it.
Time ranges are validated before saving: an end time must be after its start time, and two ranges on the same day can't overlap. If no day has any hours configured at all, an info banner reminds you that unconfigured days are considered closed — hours aren't optional once you want the venue to be bookable.
Per-Pitch Override
By default every pitch simply follows its venue's hours. Switching the scope chip from Venue default hours to a specific pitch shows that pitch's own view: any day it hasn't overridden reads Inherited from venue, with the venue's ranges shown read-only underneath. Tapping Customize on that day copies the venue's current ranges into an editable override just for that pitch; a Reset to venue action drops the override and goes back to inheriting.
Overriding hours for an individual pitch is a PRO feature; the "Customize" action carries a PRO badge on the Free plan and routes to the upgrade flow. Setting the venue's own default hours is available on every plan. Plans can change — see Payments & Packages for the current details.
Inheritance & Scope
Inheritance works at the level of a single day, not the whole week: a pitch can override Saturday and Sunday for a weekend tournament while every other day still follows the venue. Only days that actually carry an override are sent as that pitch's exception — a day left as "Inherited from venue" always tracks whatever the venue's hours are later changed to, with nothing to re-save on the pitch itself.
Switching between the venue and a pitch, or between two pitches, while you have unsaved edits asks first — "Unsaved changes will be lost. Continue?" — so a stray tap never silently discards a half-finished schedule.
Time Zone
Every range is interpreted in the venue's own time zone, set when the venue was created (see Creating a Venue) — a small note under the day list spells out which one, so hours read the same for an admin in a different time zone than the venue itself. A deactivated venue's hours are shown read-only, with a note that the venue is inactive.
Booking Outside Opening Hours
Opening hours are enforced the moment someone tries to book — a training, a match, a team reservation, a client appointment, from the booking form or from a recurring series. What happens next depends on who's booking:

Opening hours and closures are checked in a fixed order: a closure is never overridable by anyone, and is checked before opening hours. Only once a time is inside both the venue's open hours (or acknowledged) and outside every closure does the app go on to check for a scheduling conflict with something else already scheduled.
FC Thunder's ground opens at 09:00 every day. A parent asks coach Elena for a 07:30 slot before school. When Elena tries to book it as a training session, the form shows the outside-hours banner with no Confirm button — her team-admin access doesn't include overriding the venue's hours. She messages the venue's facility manager, who books the same 07:30 slot from their own account, sees the same banner but with a Confirm button this time, and acknowledges it to save the booking.
