Getting Started
Welcome to 4league. This guide walks you through everything you need to know before your first match — from downloading the app and creating an account, to understanding roles, navigation, and the profile system.
What is 4league?
4league is an all-in-one mobile app for organizing football and soccer tournaments, managing teams, tracking live scores, and connecting players — all in one place. Whether you run a backyard 5v5 or coordinate a regional league with dozens of clubs, 4league gives you everything you need without spreadsheets or WhatsApp chaos.
Download from the App Store or Google Play, or use the web version from any browser — same account everywhere.
5v5, 7v7, and 11v11 competitions. Run leagues, knockout cups, or group-stage tournaments with playoffs.
Fan, Player, Team Manager, Referee, and Organizer — every participant in your football ecosystem has a dedicated role.
4league is free for everyone. Optional PRO plans unlock unlimited competitions, advanced statistics, and live score mode.
You and your friends play football every weekend. Instead of using WhatsApp groups to track scores, you create a competition in 4league. Now everyone can see standings, top scorers, and match history automatically — and nobody needs to ask "what's the score?" ever again.
Creating Your Account
Getting set up takes under two minutes. Your account is shared across all roles — you do not need separate logins for player, manager, and organizer.
Download the app
Search for 4league on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can also access the full app via the web browser — no install required.
Tap "Get Started"
Open the app and tap the Get Started button on the welcome screen to begin registration.

Maria downloads 4league to manage her youth football academy. She creates an account, selects Romanian as her language, and verifies her email. She is ready to set up her first team in under 2 minutes.
You can change your language anytime from Account > Change Language. Your preference is saved to your account and applies across all devices.
Choosing Your Role
4league has five distinct roles. You can hold multiple roles at the same time — for example, you can be a Player in one league while also being the Organizer of another. Roles are not exclusive and can be changed or added at any point.
Fan
Fans have read-only access to all public competitions, standings, match results, and news. No management required — just follow the football you care about.
- Browse competitions and follow specific teams
- View live and final match scores
- See standings tables and top scorers
- Read news and match reports posted by organizers
Alex wants to follow his local Sunday league. As a fan, he can see all match results, standings, and top scorers without managing anything. He gets notified when his favourite team plays and checks the live score from his couch.
Player
Players create their own profile to track their personal career statistics across every team and competition they participate in.
- Create and customize your player profile
- Set your position, preferred foot, and skill ratings
- Track personal goals, assists, cards, and match history
- Connect your profile to one or more teams
- Vote for Player of the Round in competitions
David creates a player profile, sets his position as midfielder, rates his skills, and connects to his team. He can now see his personal goals, assists, and match history — all tracked automatically as results are entered by the organizer or referee.
Team Manager
Team managers create and run football clubs inside 4league. They control the squad, set lineups before each match, and see team-level statistics.
- Create a team with name, logo, and kit colours
- Add players and assign shirt numbers and positions
- Set the starting XI and substitutes before each match
- Connect the team to competitions using join codes
- View team standings and season statistics
Coach Elena creates her team "FC Thunder", adds 18 players, sets their positions and shirt numbers, and connects to the local league using the organizer's join code. Before each match, she sets the starting XI directly in the app so the lineup is recorded automatically.
Referee
Referees are given access to specific competitions by the organizer. They can input match scores and log match events — goals, cards, and substitutions — directly during the game.
- Receive a referee code from the league organizer
- Connect to the competition to see assigned matches
- Input live or final scores for each match
- Log goals with goal scorers and assist providers
- Issue yellow and red cards in real time
Referee Ion gets a referee code from the league organizer, connects to the league, and can now input live scores during matches. As soon as he enters a goal, the standings update automatically for all fans watching the app.
Organizer
Organizers have the highest level of control. They create competitions, set the rules, invite teams, generate the match schedule, and manage the entire tournament from start to finish.
- Create leagues, knockout cups, or group-stage tournaments
- Configure rules: points per win, tiebreakers, match formats
- Add teams directly or share join codes for self-registration
- Auto-generate the full schedule using the Berger algorithm
- Manage referees, news posts, and season operations
Andrei creates a weekend 5v5 tournament with 8 teams. He uses the Berger algorithm to auto-generate the schedule in one tap, and all teams can see their upcoming matches instantly. He posts the bracket in the news feed so every fan and player has the full picture.
There is no need to choose just one. Many users are both a Player (tracking their personal stats) and a Team Manager (running their club) at the same time. Roles are additive — enable as many as you need.
App Navigation Overview
4league uses a drawer-based navigation model. When you open the app, you land on your default profile. A hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top corner opens the drawer, where you can switch between all your profiles and access account settings.
The Drawer Menu
The drawer is your home base. From here you can:
- Switch between competition, team, player, and organization profiles
- Create a new profile of any type
- Access your account and notification settings
- Log out or switch accounts
When you open the app, you see your default profile. Tap the hamburger menu to switch between your competition, team, or player profile. Each profile shows different tabs relevant to that context — the bottom tab bar changes depending on which profile you are viewing.
Bottom Tabs by Profile Type
Each profile type has its own set of bottom navigation tabs. The table below shows what tabs are available in each context.
| Profile Type | Tab 1 | Tab 2 | Tab 3 | Tab 4 | Tab 5 | Tab 6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Competition | Matches | Standings | Statistics | Messages | Account | — |
| Team | My Team | Matches | Statistics | Messages | Account | — |
| Player | Profile | Matches | Statistics | Messages | Account | — |
| Organization | Overview | Leagues & Teams | Players | Match & Stats | Media | Account |
The tabs you see always reflect the profile you currently have open. If you switch from a Competition Profile to a Team Profile in the drawer, the bottom tabs will change immediately to match the new context.
Understanding Profiles
The most important concept in 4league is the profile. Every entity in the app — a competition, a team, a player, or a football organization — has its own profile with its own data, settings, and URL.
The Four Profile Types
| Profile Type | Created by | Deep link path | Primary purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Competition Profile | Organizer | /competition/123/matches |
Run leagues, cups, and tournaments. Manage teams, fixtures, results, and standings. |
| Team Profile | Team Manager | /team/456/roster |
Manage a squad's roster, kit, formations, and match lineups across multiple competitions. |
| Player Profile | Player | /player/789/stats |
Track personal match history, stats, skills, and achievements across all teams played for. |
| Organization Profile | Organizer | /organization/012/overview |
Umbrella entity to manage multiple competitions, clubs, transfers, and a shared player pool. |
Multiple Profiles
You are not limited to one profile of each type. A single account can own or be connected to as many profiles as needed. All of them appear in the drawer menu for quick switching.
Federation, Association, and Club organizations require a PRO subscription to create. Every account can also create one free Community / Friends group; additional groups, and any official organization, require PRO. A soft cap of 10 organizations applies to every account regardless of plan. See Organization Subscription Rules for details.
Public vs. Private Profiles
Each profile can be set to public (anyone can find and view it) or private (visible only to members with the join code). Public competitions appear in search results so fans and players can discover them without needing a direct link.
Coach Maria manages 2 teams and plays in a third league as a player. She switches between her Team Profile for "FC Thunder", her Team Profile for "Youth Academy U15", and her Player Profile to see her own stats — all from the same drawer menu, all under the same account, with no extra logins needed.
Every profile has a shareable URL. You can send a direct link to your competition's standings, a team's roster, or a player's stats page. Recipients who open the link will land directly on that screen — even if they are new to 4league and need to create an account first.
